The farmhouse Podere Palazzone "Toscana on horseback"
is located in the countryside at the border of the Berignone Forest,
the biggest Natural Reserve of Tuscany, distancing 1 km from the
centre of the medieval village of Pomarance, Province Pisa, Italy.
Here you enjoy a spectacular view of the classical Tuscan hills of
Upper Cecina Valley and the ancient Etruscan town of Volterra,
famous today also for being the scenery of the bestseller
"Twilight". On the horizon appears the sea and the often snowed up Alpi
Apuane. At one hour drive there is the low-cost airport of Pisa,
well served by Ryanair.

The closest train station to the farmhouse Podere Palazzone is the one of
Cecina. From there the Italian train company offers a bus service to
Volterra. Get off at Saline di Volterra and take a bus to Pomarance.

Still today, from the bottom of the ancient civic tower, he keeps an eye on us. Each September the four districts of Pomarance fight for the Palio delle Contrade and the whole town turns into a medieval marketplace.

You reach it by the road S.S.439 after the roundabout of Pomarance direction Massa Marittima / Larderello. After 500 m there is a gas station on the right hand side. Take the first street on the left after another 200 m, Via del Palagetto, following the signs "Trekking Maneggio". Turn again left after 100 m. At the end of the cypress alley you reach a huge secular oak, which marks the entry of the stud Podere Palazzone. Welcome!
